Brass trimmer (550 650 LNL) to use Dillon/Whidden dies .223 .308 etc.

This kit is for progressive presses OTHER than the Loadmaster. Click "see other listings" to see our other models. Switch mount included, requires the center hole to be drilled out to 3/4". We recommend pre-drilling a 3/4" hole in a wood block to clamp over the hole for guiding the drill bit. Overboring an existing hole without such a fixture will cause substantial chatter. If your toolhead already is 3/4" this sleeve will press in to correct depth by actuating the press with included precision spacer in the switch pocket. Our BetterTrim motor assembly accepts the common threaded trim dies from Dillon, Whidden etc. (SIZING DIE NOT INCLUDED) using 13/16-20 threads to trim brass during the sizing process. It requires a radio controlled car Nimh or NiCd battery pack (battery and charger INCLUDED) using typical Tamiya "large" connectors. I recommend 7.2v or 9.6v. Higher voltage (up to 24vdc continuous) is acceptable but excessive, unnecessary and may cause vibration and torque unscrewing problems. Proper voltage power tool batteries are perfectly fine as well, but will not connect without harness modification. Already have Tamiya "large" battery packs? See our other listing to save a couple bucks. Our motor is fairly quiet- louder than a desk fan, quieter than most bathroom fans. *Hearing protection not required*. It spools very quickly, so the special overtravel switch can be mounted on the press (get creative) to power the motor as the ram approaches the top, at which point it trims the brass, and shuts off on the down stroke of the ram. Or just push the switch as you see fit. The small plastic shield contains the brass shavings, which can be swept with a paint brush or vacuumed away every hundred or so cases. It is a permanent magnet design with ball bearing support on the cutter end and accepts common indexable TCMT cutters, though it is *extremely* difficult to wear them out on brass. Best results are achieved with a smooth handle stroke and brief pause (1/2 second or so) to allow the cutter to finish and clean the cut.
There will be manufacturing tool marks here and there, and minor variations such as zip tie location and switch color. The press etc. in the picture is not included, but simply an example of mounting. Your kit is now shipping with TiN (titanium nitride) coated carbide cutter, a 9.6v NiMh battery and harness that allows connection of the charger in parallel so your reloading session is not interrupted by swapping batteries. When unattended, the charger should be disconnected from the battery to prevent overcharging. Shipping will be by Priority Mail small flat rate box.
