Great product for the price All In All, I'd recommend this trimmer. Perhaps, I would get the straight shaft, if I could do it over. 8 Nov 21
The trimmer is simple to assemble. I use 91 Octane fuel mixed with One capfull of the 2 stroke oil included with the trimmer, and occasionally will add a capfull of Marvel Mystery Oil in addition to the 2 Stroke oil, or a capfull of ATF. Usually, it's rough on cold starts. I find that you have to prime, Adjust the carb to "choke", hold down the trigger, pull until engine sputters at least. it most likely will not run. move the carb to 'half choke'. Prime it about 5-7 more times, hold the trigger and it should start, and if it doesn't, place the carb to "run" and start it. Additionally, holding the trimmer upside down helps to get it going on the cold start due to gravity and the position of the gas tank. Once it's warmed up, it always starts back up first pull. Remember to keep the trigger pressed when starting. The line it comes with is complete garbage, but if you gave up on the trimmer because of the line, shame on you. I went a few isles over and picked up some great line, it's much heavier, and is Blue line inside of a second outer Clear line. forget the brand, and it is expensive$15-$20 but hey, it's well worth the investment, considering I have had the same spool for over a year now. The trimmer reloads easy to, I find that pulling about a 14-12 ft long piece of string through even on to the spool, so there's about 6-7 feet on each side, then string through the eye of the cover and clip it on, then wind the spool up using the bump feed button and turning the mechanism, will wind it up quick and without causing any jamming later during use. I was just stopping by here today to look for any other reviews regarding using this tool for any other utility? Such as a polesaw for example? I believe the box of this trimmer said it was compatible with other attachments, but haven't been able to find anything related made by homelite.
