Built to provide you with an efficient tool for cutting through any chaff, the Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless String Trimmer, Tool Only has plenty of power for any trimming work. Built with the same Makita motor technology that powers saws, drills and other equipment, this cordless motor is capable of up to 7,800 rpm, with an easily attachable spool assembly for quickly performing maintenance. The head of this Makita string trimmer has 5 potential positions for cutting at hard angles, and the telescoping shaft can expand from 48-1/2-inches to 56-1/2-inches quickly and easily. The tool's lightweight 6.4-pound design is compact for working in tight spaces, and features a battery warning light to let you know when it's getting low. The rotating head is capable of up to 180 degrees of vertical rotation, converting this lithium-ion string trimmer to an edger without needing tools. The tool also features a 10-1/4-inch cutting width for covering more area, with an adjustable handle loop for operating comfort and STAR Protection Computer Controls to stop the motor from overheating or overloading. This technology allows the lithium-ion string trimmer to communicate with its battery while it operates, and is one of the many battery-efficient features included in the LXT line of motors.
