This a 3D printed addon to the RCBS case trimmer that enhances a great device and eliminates the need for collets and pilots.
The trimmer I am using in the video is the one I've had for years. It is labelled "RCBS" on the casting, has the T-Handle, and the collets are inserted from the cutter side.
It does not work on the "Trimmer 2", but I'll make one that does very soon.
Eliminating the collets is the most important advantage gained by this addon. You don’t have to worry about getting the base into the collet consistently or having the same twist on the T-Handle every time. That would be impossible.
Second is not having to get the case mouth the right size to match the pilot, and if you are a target shooter, you don’t have a pilot and shavings in the neck scraping off the powder residue.
Third is the fact that the way the case is held inline between the head of the adjustment screw and the cutter, it squares the mouth. I have a lot of fired brass to test this on, and it is obvious that my previous trimming methods were not squaring the mouth.
Shoulder bump is measured from to the base, and the mouth should be measured from the same point. About the Video.
I tried to get the trimmer setup in sixty seconds, so it could be shown in this ad. It took nearly ninety seconds, so I had to chop it up to make it short enough. Please forgive me for the obvious deception. Case Holders.
