VINTAGE '69 GARY PRUNER LITHOGRAPH PRINT POP ART CHERRY LISTED

Vintage Gary Pruner Lithograph Description and Item Information Up for sale is this vintage lithograph print by the well-known, Sacramento, California artist, Gary Pruner. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This piece of art has a mid-century modern, pop art style. It depicts a cherry perched upon what looks to be a baby bottle top; these objects are surrounded by a knotted cord of some type. The print paper is affixed along its top edge to a cardstock backing. The original mat is also included. No frame is included, as the original one was damaged. The print paper measures approximately 20 1/4 inches by 17 1/2 inches. The sight area within the mat is about 20 inches by 17 1/8 inches. The exterior dimensions of the cardstock backing and the mat are approximately 29 1/8 inches by 25 1/2 inches (the mat is slightly larger than the backing). Unpacked, this item weighs about 1 1/2 pounds. It would be a fine addition to a collection of modernist California art. Identification This piece is by Gary Pruner (1940-2017). It is titled, "The American Cherry" and it is numbered "172/225." It is dated, "'69." Gary Pruner is a listed artist on askART. Per askART, Pruner was born in Kansas. He graduated from California State College, Sacramento, and he also studied at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland. Pruner taught at the American River College from 1970 to 1997. His works include abstract northern California landscapes, realistic still lifes, and psychedelic imagery. He exhibited at the Crocker Art Museum in 1960 and at the Monterey Peninsula Museum. Condition This print looks very good overall. The paper has minor rippling. There are some light marks to the upper right (see Photo 6). The bottom edge of the print paper has minor disruptions (see Photos 7 and 8). The cardstock backing has minor discoloration and some tape residue marks. The mat and the cardstock backing have light edge wear. Please review the description and photos, and ask any necessary questions prior to bidding or buying. Terms of Sale 1.
